We've discussed differing generational expectations before (Wil Wheaton's reaction to a fire evacuation at a convention).<br /><br />My first experience with shelter-in-place was in the early sixties: we were all herded into the basement hallway of our school building and told to squat against the wall, with our heads down and our hands over our heads. This was supposed to protect us in the event of a nuclear attack. (Oh, what naïveté!) I guess when you spend your formative years expecting that the nuclear holocaust can happen any day, you get to be a bit jaded about lesser calamities.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
